Giulio Battaglini

As a first generation American and first born son of immigrant parents from soccer mad countries Italy and Argentina, Giulio personally experienced many of the challenges that children face in the post migration phase. His parents had $11 between them when he was born and neither spoke English, so acculturative stress and family poverty was ever present while growing up. Not only did he need to learn a new language (Giulio didn’t even speak English until he was in kindergarten), but he had to negotiate his cultural identity and deal with social isolation, racism, prejudice, and discrimination.

Other than the love and guidance of his parents, Giulio credits soccer, the world’s game, as the main factor that gave him purpose, direction, focus, and kept him from the trappings of drugs, gang activity, and underage drinking that unfortunately attracted many of his peers. Playing soccer multiple times a week throughout his childhood and adult years at all levels (including professionally), gives Giulio the well-rounded background and experience to head up a professional soccer club and academy.

Giulio’s vision is to insure that World United Soccer Club and Academy gives the community an identity, source of pride, and unifying cause while giving children a sense of purpose, direction, focus, and a realistic, achievable goal of where they can get to as a minimum.

A world traveler and currently President and CEO of Asiana USA/Logistica and co-owner of a family winery in Sonoma County, California, Giulio is looking to utilize his worldwide network to provide the opportunities for players to pursue their soccer dreams anywhere in the world.
